Back to the Debate

So back to the friendly debate I am having Twilight vs Sex n The City one being more realistic than the other, I was doing some research on the internet (extremely slow & bored at work today) I stumbbled upon an article written by Amy Remeikis "How realistic is Sex and the City?" http://www.thedaily.com.au/news/2008/may/22/how-realistic-sex-and-city/ is where the article is from if anyone would like to browse through it. It is an Australian journalist and compares the "New York dating scene" to the "Australian dating scene" but has some valid points that I just had to share with the class. One line states : "The characters are made up of characteristics we all have, you can see a little of yourself in all of them,” also a fact from the article stated, "Tegan and her friend Jess Vos agree with the 88% of respondents who said the show had had a positive impact on the image of single professional women." Now I completely understand that we all have our own takes on things & certain situations, statements or actions will offend others no matter how senitive the matter is handled but there are some facts! Also if you go to the Sex and the City website :: http://www.hbo.com/city/news/index.shtml there is a page devoted to all of the awards received for the shows, cast & plots! That says something. I am just trying to let people see, that this show, may be far fetched, but has some major realistic qualities. Anyone of us can relate to someone, some character that has come through one of the many episodes of Sex and the City.
But honeslty how can you relate to a vampire? Any of us bloodless, fang having, blood drinking vampires? I think not! By definition, a vampire is :: A blood-sucking ghost; a soul of a dead person superstitiously believed to come from the grave and wander about by night sucking the blood of persons asleep, thus causing their death. This superstition is now prevalent in parts of Eastern Europe, and was especially current in Hungary about the year 1730. Fig.: One who lives by preying on others; an extortioner; a bloodsucker. How can any of us; living, breathing, have blood, none of us are "un-dead"m or prey on each other relate to that? AND THEN! How can we relate to this, & then even more so believe that something like that who "preys on others" fall in love with another and then defend & protect it? COMPLETLEY ASTONISHING!!! in my eyes. And completely unbelievable. That is all today on my side of debtate, I personally think that I have made a great case. Honestly lately I have been feeling (not only on this debate) that I have been doing phenomenal in agruments everywhere! I really should have been a lawyer!

Jennie!

I never argued that Twilight was more believable than SATC. I argued that you won't give it a shot based on its popularity! Of course vampires aren't believable!

BUT i DID HAVE A REALLY RAD DREAM ABOUT THEM LAST NIGHT :)
